anyone using twitter?

Aattending the Social Media Exchange - http://socialmediaexchange.org.uk - there was a lot of discussion about how groups could use Twitter.

I have had a quick look at it and was wondering if any groups have examples of how they have used twitter in their organisation and what the benefits have been.

Thanks

There are loads of voluntary organisations out there using Twitter.

I've just posted this news item on the NCVO Third Sector Foresight website http://network.3s4.org.uk/members/louisebrown/news#84

There's a useful post here: http://www.fly4change.com/?p=472 with 13 tips on what Twitter can be used for.

For those that are using twitter I have just come across an accessible twitter site - http://accessibletwitter.com

Site is currently in development but certainly worth keeping an eye on.

I'm using twitter as well, but I'll probably use it a lot more now thanks to those articles. Also, I'm currently using tweetdeck, what other programs do people recommend?

There are additional addons you can get for Firefox that integrate Twitter into the browser. Twitter Line, Twitter Statusbar, Twitter Fox, etc

We are a IT and Management training company and we are using twitter to push messages on new course offerings, any offers we are running, general industry news, as well as engaging and listening to people that are looking to get trained/certified. If you are interested then have a look at http://twitter.com/beafirebrand

Interesting stuff. It seems like more and more twitter is being used for advertising.

Would be interested to hear about organisations using it to foster discussions with clients, input in to their work and not just promotion and advertising.
