What to think about when developing your organisation's Web presence
Is the sector making as much use of its web presence as possible?

In the April 2010 London ICT e-bulletin, we noted that analysis of charity websites by the consultancy Precedent says they are poor campaigning tools and often fail to use the most effective web technologies. The assessment of 60 charity websites with annual incomes ranging from about £100,000 to more than £10m, found they often lacked basic information about the charity and appeared to have little overall strategy. You can download the report direct from Precedent http://www.precedent.co.uk/ (click on reports). Does this strike a chord with you? Or is the sample that they used atypical and casts the technology use by the VCS in a poor light? Let us know what you think.

Absolutely not.
For-profit businesses in the UK are only just waking up to the power of digital marketing, SEO (search engine optimisation), viral marketing and social media.
Non-for-profits are way-behind.
If anybody in the sector wants some free advice, please feel free to contact me in this thread, or via my website. Within the constraints of the time that is available to me, I give free help and advice to non-for-profit organisations.
